Demand Accountability from Australian and NSW Government for Harbouring Leaders of Brothers Home Atrocities

Demand Accountability from Australian and NSW Government for Harbouring Leaders of Brothers Home Atrocities
The issue
It is painfully personal to me to bring forth the dark past concerning the Brothers Home atrocities in South Korea during the 1980s and 1990s. An estimated 4,000 people—children as young as four and elders up to 75—were subjected to savage abuses. The level of cruelty, the unfathomable conditions, the systematic torture, and indentured labour these victims endured demand justice.
Today, the Park and Lim family, key perpetrators of these horrific crimes, are living in Sydney, Australia. They run a church, own a golf course, and reside in a $1.2 million property. Reports suggest that the funds for these assets may have come from embezzled donations intended for the survivors of Brothers Home.
It is deeply disturbing that Australia, a country built on justice and human rights, could unknowingly harbour individuals linked to such atrocities. We cannot allow our nation to be a safe haven for those who have committed crimes against humanity.
We call upon:
The Milperra Local MP Kylie Wilkinson,
The Australian Federal Police,
The NSW Premier Chris Minns,
The NSW Council for Civil Liberties, and
The Australian Human Rights Commission
to investigate the Park family’s activities and consider their extradition to South Korea, where they must face justice for their crimes.
The victims of Brothers Home deserve justice, and we, as Australian citizens, must ensure that our country does not shelter perpetrators of such heinous acts. By signing this petition, you are demanding accountability and integrity from our leaders. Together, we can right a historical wrong and stand up for human rights.
Please sign this petition to demand justice for the victims of Brothers Home and ensure the Park family faces accountability for their actions.
