Demand a Vote on HB 2367 – Expanded Sentence Credits in Illinois
Demand a Vote on HB 2367 – Expanded Sentence Credits in Illinois
The Issue
To the Illinois General Assembly and House Leadership:
We call on the Illinois House of Representatives to immediately move HB 2367 out of the Rules Committee and allow a full vote.
HB 2367 would expand sentence credits and require the Illinois Department of Corrections to recalculate release dates for eligible incarcerated individuals. Families across Illinois are waiting for fair and transparent consideration of this legislation.
Keeping this bill stalled in committee denies the public and elected representatives the opportunity to debate and vote on an issue that affects thousands of Illinois families.
We respectfully urge House leadership to schedule a hearing and allow the democratic process to move forward.
The people of Illinois deserve transparency, accountability, and a vote.
Signed,
Concerned residents, families, and community members
