Susana A. Mendoza, born in 1972, is a prominent American politician from Illinois. She is the current and 10th Comptroller of Illinois, a position she has held since December 2016. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Mendoza has a distinguished career in public service. Prior to her role as Comptroller, she served as the City Clerk of Chicago from 2011 to 2016. Her political career began in the Illinois House of Representatives, where she represented the 1st District of Illinois.
