The slaughter of animals for food should not permit religious methods, without stunning.

The Issue

Religious practices should not take precedence over UK animal welfare standards. UK law should determine the well being of all animals bred for human food consumption.

Current religious exemptions which permit animal slaughter without pre stunning should be prohibited.

Animals are sentient beings and should be treated as such from birth to death.
