Defend TRU students from alleged serial rapist

Defend TRU students from alleged serial rapist
The Issue
A TRU Law student and the Entertainment Committee's Executive Member of TRUSU has been accused of sexual assaulting 4+ women during his time at McGill University in Fall 2020. Some of the survivors published written testimonies regarding alleged acts of sexual violence; namely rape, sexual coercion and sexual harassment. Both on campus and in student housing, he allegedly preyed on multiple young, drunk, female students. Some of which were minors.
A petition was launched by McGill students, garnering over 50,000 signatures and led to his removal from the university. the story made headlines and was covered abundantly by mainstream news outlets such as CBC, Info51, and CityNews Montreal.
Upon admittance to UBC’s Law School, a similar petition citing the first was also filed and resulted in his removal from UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law. According to that petition, upon his disenrollment from McGill, he was swiftly accepted into the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus). In the following years, he built a new life for himself and continuously coerced his victims into silence. Meanwhile, the survivors of his attacks suffered from PTSD, endless harassment and a slew of death threats. Today, the perpetrator promotes himself as a "victim of false and defamatory allegations". With this label, he avoids accountability under the guise of advocacy, framing those who accused him as members of a discriminatory group. Worse still, has been offered admission to UBC's Peter A. Allard School of Law, where he intends to become a criminal defense lawyer.
After a conversation with one of the original petitioners from McGill, we have directly linked these allegations back to the student of the same name who is attending Thompson Rivers University. Since his arrival at TRU, the person in question has established several clubs and entities such as the so-called TRU Campus Culture Collective (which is neither recognized by TRU or TRUSU) which he currently runs on campus becoming a prominent figure in campus life, and later became the Executive Member of the TRUSU Entertainment Committee. But not without the help of a former member of the TRUSU Campaigns Committee who knew about the full scope of the allegations. This gives him the power to oversee events hosted by TRUSU. He also started the so-called Racial Advocacy Award named after himself, a vanity project started in his name using his own money unendorsed by TRU or TRUSU.
We call on Thompson Rivers University, the TRU Faculty of Law, and TRUSU to make a statement and take swift action to restore trust and protect women on campus.
Note: None of the allegations have been tested in court
