The Issue

Our Veterans who have served dead and alive deserve more than an annual recognition. Every day, these individuals stand up to protect our freedoms, our values, and our way of life. The bravery and sacrifices they and their families make cannot be understated, and they are the silent heroes who often go unnoticed. It is estimated that there are over 18 million veterans in the United States [U.S. Census Bureau, 2020] who have put their lives on the line for us. Currently, we recognize them only once a year on Veterans Day. For such a great contribution, a single day of recognition is simply not enough.

We propose that Veterans Day becomes a monthly commemoration, giving us the chance to demonstrate our appreciation and support more frequently. This will serve as a regular reminder for newer generations of the cost of the freedoms they enjoy. By making Veterans Day a monthly event, we would ensure that the valor, courage, and sacrifices of our Veterans are remembered, discussed, and honored with the magnitude they deserve. Let's ensure that our appreciation for our veterans becomes a regular part of our national dialogue.

Please join us in advocating for a greater recognition for our Veterans. Sign our petition and instigate a critical change in how our nation celebrates its heroes.
