On January 19th, 2025 the popular social media app Tiktok is threatened to be banned by the United States Government if they are not sold to an American owner. The reason behind this is they believe it poses a security risk because Tiktok's parent company Bytedance is based in China and they have concerns about the Chinese government accessing our data which those claims have been debunked after previous attempts to ban the app. If Tiktok were to be banned it would infringe our rights to free speech, affect companies who use Tiktok to generate sales and limit our access to news and educational content. So please do not ban Tiktok on January 19th this app means so much to the 170 million Americans who use it daily to connect with eachother, inspire others and help our nation's economy.
