Stop mislabeled Cat and Dog fur and all real furs/skin entering and being sold in the UK
The Issue
Im sure that most of you will unfortunately know about the tens of thousands of animals being killed in places like China for their fur but do you know that they kill Cats and dogs also for their fur and even steal the animals from their owners in order to make a profit and did you know that here in the UK that animal fur is then sold on to the retail market by using misleading labels like "Asian Jackal" to disguise the fact they are selling cat and dog fur.
Lorries filled with up to 800 animals who have been found on the streets or stolen from their owners still with their collars on are trapped and transported in tiny cages. Living and dying animals together in a cage awaiting their horrible fate. The cages are then tossed 10 feet from the lorry onto ground shattering the bones of the animals inside. The cats dogs, kittens and puppies are then subjected to having their necks broken being bludgeoned or kicked, strangled with wired nooses, drowned by forcing water from a hose down their throats and lastly being brutally skinned alive and thrown into a pile left to blink and gasp for air for up to 5 minutes. These methods are done to stop any damage to the fur. The fur from these precious lives are then used for collars on coats, as linings on gloves and even in rugs or trinkets.
Here in the UK we are lucky to have animal welfare charities such as PETA who work every day to save animals from this horrible abuse however here in the UK the fur is then traded in using misleading labels such as "rabbit" and "Asian jackal" and bought from the consumer without them or you even knowing what they are buying.
Think about the cat or dog you are cuddling or the animal you and your family love so dearly. Then think about that cat or dog being stolen from your family and being skinned alive its fur taken and the lifeless body thrown to ground and left to die and having to tell your children what happened to their favourite cat or dog. That is the cruel reality but YOU can make a difference by singing this petition and bringing it to the attention of the parliament. Lets make a difference and be the voice that animals don't have.
