Save The Thurleigh Airfield Cars!

The Issue

Thousands of classic cars are currently stored at R.A.F Thurleigh, a British airbase located in northeast Bedfordshire. Classic cars are few and far between due to a controversial national scrappage program created by the British government which left 392,227 pre-21st century vehicles crushed, many of which were rare, limited production sports cars and retro classics. Auctioning off the current cars will raise a much larger sum of money and will revitalize a section of car culture that was once lost. Saving these cars will provide future generations with the experience and knowledge of classic cars. Many of the cars seen in the photos of the airfield are at risk of extinction and deserve to be preserved, whether in a museum or in the hands of car enthusiasts. A car provides a lifetime of memories, scrap metal provides wasted potential.
