Force companies who test animals to explicitly state so in animal testing policies

Force companies who test animals to explicitly state so in animal testing policies
The Issue
Many cosmetics companies today continue to test their products and ingredients on animals despite there being numerous, more effective methods of preventing adverse affects on people.
Not only this but these companies frequently try to mislead concerned buyers by using confusing language in their animal testing policies to try and hide the fact that they do fund or fully endorse animal testing for their products. An example being Benefit, who sell in China where they pay another company to test their products on animals (in accordance with Chinese law) but looking at their animal testing policy you'd never know they do this.
This simply needs to change. By no means am I suggesting that every person should boycott companies who do test on animals as that is a personal decision. However for those like myself who do prefer to only purchase cosmetics from companies who do not test on animals it should not be a difficult guessing game trying to traverse confusing legal language and contradictory statements.
I therefore suggest making it law in the UK for companies who wish to sell here that they must answer any animal testing questions with a simple (AND TRUTHFUL) yes or no before going into more details on their specific policy. This includes (but is not limited to) companies who sell in china, companies who pay other companies to test on animals on their behalf and companies who conduct animal testing themselves outside of the EU. In addition to this companies who do not conduct animal testing at all on any of their products, but are owned by parent companies who do conduct animal testing should also be legally obligated to clearly state this in their animal testing policies.
Please sign this petition if you believe the public have a right to know what their money is funding and an individual should be able to avoid companies who do test their products on animals easily.
