TVNZ have announced that they will be cutting Fair Go , Midday news and late news.

Yet Te Karere is to remain, but it only reaches about 10% of our population and has not been affected. Yet there are already two Te Reo channels, so Te Reo is not being neglected.

It's a case of having a fourth Estate that reaches all of the population.

This is very important that we are all kept informed, especially with natural disasters etc. As we are all effected by this.

The ratio of news broadcast in English compared to Te Reo is so disproportionate and does not reflect the majority of our population.

Honest transparent Fourth Estate is a necessity for any nation to function and by axing Te Karere will not have as much effect as axing the other shows and there are two Te Reo channels that provide news.

At least by keeping the mainstream media we are all kept informed as most New Zealanders speak English.

Once this is gone we will be uninformed and left vulnerable. 

This imbalance must be stopped.
