This charming home holds immense personal value, and I am committed to ensuring it survives long after I am gone. However, like many older homes across the UK, it faces a pressing challenge: its energy consumption is unsustainable for the environment and costly for my budget. Retrofitting to improve energy efficiency is essential, yet the expense is currently beyond my reach.

The UK housing market comprises a substantial number of older properties like mine that could greatly benefit from an upgrade in energy efficiency. This initiative would also spur job creation within the green economy, as demand for renewable energy solutions and skilled labour in retrofitting rises. In turn, this diversification of the job market works to revitalise sectors that have waned.
