Corrective Actions to Reinstate Syed Ali Dhia and Zainab Latif at LFA
The Issue
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Dear LFA Board Members and Principal,
The LFA parent and student community has recently experienced a significant upheaval with the sudden and unexpected resignation of two valued and dedicated LFA founding members. These individuals have dedicated years of service and commitment to our school community, shaping educational policies that have positively impacted the success and well-being of our students.
The resignation of these valued founding members was not due to trivial reasons. Their concerns have been outlined in a letter submitted publicly to the school community: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BgpWFs8QboxLlFFbzt8v68a0HrCs1QvK/view?usp=sharing
This sudden shift in the leadership dynamics of our school has left many parents, students, and teachers worried about the future direction and stability of our educational institution.
Reinstating Syed Ali Dhia and Sister Zainab Latif is crucial for maintaining continuity and trust within our school community. These founding members are known in Calgary and across Canada for their dedication to delivering sound religious education, proven track record of successfully advocating for essential resources, and prioritizing student needs. Their absence has already begun to affect the school's operations and threatens to undermine the success we have all worked hard to achieve.
Syed Ali Dhia and Sister Zainab Latif are willing to return to the school if corrective actions are taken to address their concerns. These corrective actions are also outlined in the attached letter: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BgpWFs8QboxLlFFbzt8v68a0HrCs1QvK/view?usp=sharing
As a concerned group of parents, we request:
- Syed Ali Dhia and Sister Zainab Latif to be reinstated within LFA
- That the corrective that have put forward be reviewed and discussed through a transparent and religiously credible mediation process, whereby each party has a choice of mediator.
We trust that inshallah this concern can be resolved amicably. As the Holy Quran states:
"If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them; but if one of the transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah, it if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair, for Allah loves those who are fair (and just)".
-Surah al-Hujurat (49:9)
Sincerely,
Concerned Parents of Students at Lady Fatima Academy
