Because of your engagement, research, presence, conversations, and persistence, the CISD Board voted down the proposal to consolidate and close Town Center Elementary.

This wasn’t just a TCE win — it was a win for transparency, fairness, and data-driven decision-making across our entire district.

And notably, this outcome goes against the statewide trend, where many districts have approved school closures. Coppell stood together — and it mattered.

We also thank the CISD Board for their thoughtful deliberation. They recognized that the original proposal was not transparent, incomplete, and not data-driven.
Yes — serious financial work still lies ahead, but we can now move forward with a process grounded in integrity.

📌 What’s Next? Highlights from the Nov. 17 CISD Board Meeting

🧭 Zero-Based Staffing Study (Bottom-Up Review)

A full, foundational staffing review is launching — finally determining what CISD actually needs based on today’s and tomorrow’s enrollment.
This is a major and long-overdue step.

👥 Voluntary Retirement/Resignation Incentives

CISD is evaluating options to support staffing right-sizing through voluntary programs.

🚫 No School Closure Proposal (for now)

There will be no consolidation recommendation this year, giving time for deeper analysis and trust rebuilding.

🗺️ Boundary Realignment Study

CISD will study shifting some southern-zoned students to Mockingbird and Lakeside to balance enrollment.

🤝 Cowboys United Enrollment Initiative

A bold push to bring back students currently attending charter, private, or homeschool programs.

A massive door-to-door outreach campaign to reconnect with every neighborhood in Coppell.
CISD needs ~400 community volunteers — a great chance to serve and strengthen our district.
