💡 Today’s “Did You Know?” – The $4M Timeline That Doesn’t Add Up

We’ve created a simple timeline showing the sequence of decisions and investments around Town Center Elementary (TCE) — and it’s eye-opening.

🗓️ Feb 24, 2025: CISD Board approves nearly $4 million in renovations for TCEagainst the advice of the Bond Oversight Committee.
🛠️ Summer 2025: Construction completed, including over $800,000 in new furniture.
📋 Sept 2025: CISD lists TCE as the recommended school for closure.

🤔 It’s hard to reconcile how such a major investment — made just months ago — could lead to a closure proposal so soon after. While we understand the district faces budget pressures, financial stewardship requires foresight, not reaction.

As one resident put it, “Building the plane while we’re flying it” is not the strategy our schools deserve.
Our students, staff, and taxpayers deserve long-term, strategic, and data-driven planning — not rushed or pre-determined decisions.

💪 How You Can Help This Week
