This petition stems from a personal yearning and a community need. As an active member and volleyball enthusiast in the Takapuna neighbourhood, I recognise the multifaceted benefits an outdoor volleyball net facility could bring. This facility would not only promote cardiovascular fitness but would also serve as a platform for fostering communal bonding through sport and recreation. There is yet to be a recreational volleyball court in our area – a feature that I believe many of my fellow residents also deeply desire.

The World Health Organization underscores the importance of regular physical activity in lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases, and volleyball is a sport that contributes well to this cause. The construction of an outdoor volleyball net within our community would serve as an open invitation for people to take initiative in improving their health while also promoting camaraderie amongst neighbors in a fun, competitive environment.
