I am a dog owner living in Miramichi, New Brunswick. Like many of my fellow residents, I believe our dogs need regular exercise for their health and well-being. Unfortunately, there are no dedicated spaces for them to run freely and safely in Chatham. A dog park is the only viable option.

Dog parks provide numerous benefits not just for dogs but also for their owners and the wider community. They offer a safe space where dogs can exercise off-leash under the supervision of their owners. This helps improve dogs' physical health and mental well-being by reducing anxiety levels and preventing behavioral problems (source: American Kennel Club). For us humans, they provide an opportunity to socialize with other pet owners while enjoying outdoor activities.

Chatham is currently lacking such facilities despite having a significant number of households owning pets (source: Canadian Veterinary Medical Association). It's time we addressed this issue.

We call on the local government of Miramichi to construct a dedicated dog park in Chatham that will cater to our furry friends' needs while enhancing our community's quality of life.
