Re-instate the Friends of Pennypack Park
The Issue
The friends of Pennypack Park was an organization dedicated to making Pennypack Park a cleaner place to visit and hang out in. They would meet with volunteers every month at different sections of the park. The organization would provide the equipment needed to clean the park. This includes the grabbers, trash bags, bins, gloves, water, and pretzels. They worked to make sure that the trash thrown out in the park ended up in the place that it should be. The organization did this for many years before it was forced to shut down.
The reason for the Friends of Pennypack Park shutting down was completely out of their control. It was sued for two events that the organization was not involved in. These include a tree branch falling on a young girl and a teenage boy drowning in the creek. The Friends of Pennypack Park were working to make a better place for people to enjoy the surrounding nature, but was sued and shut down just for having the words "Pennypack Park" in its name.
Getting the organization re-instated would allow the volunteers to start cleaning up the parks again. This would make the park look better, so that people could enjoy the nature for years to come. It would also make it easier for students to do volunteer work.
