"Concealed weapons in Congress?"

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

"Gun control opponents in Congress argue that people are safer when they are armed, and the Senate has even approved concealed weapons in our national parks. Nevertheless Congress prohibits concealed weapons in its buildings.

Boldly dispense with armed guards and metal detectors on Capital Hill! If we are all safer carrying guns, then such protections are unnecessary. Terrorists and criminals will not stand a chance when our Senators and Representatives are packing heaters!

Allow concealed weapons on Capital Hill so that anyone threatening violence there can be used for target practice. Let freedom ring!

Please, note: This "tongue in cheek" letter stems from an editorial by E.J. Dionne Jr. in the Washington Post of 7/27/09.  As a "tongue in cheek" letter mocks the double-think mindset of lawmakers who oppose gun control."
