Complaint Against Illegal Annual Fee Increase and Request for 15% Sibling Discount
Complaint Against Illegal Annual Fee Increase and Request for 15% Sibling Discount
The Issue
Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned parents of students enrolled at Supernova School, Faisal Town, Islamabad, collectively submit this complaint regarding two significant concerns that have affected our families:
1. Illegal Annual Fee Increase
As per the regulations set forth by the Private Education Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) under Section 6 of the PEIRA Act 2013, private educational institutions are not permitted to raise their annual fees by more than 5% without explicit approval from PEIRA.
Despite this clear legal restriction, Supernova School has increased its annual fees by a percentage significantly exceeding the legal limit for multiple consecutive years. This unlawful fee hike has placed an undue financial burden on us, the parents, without any valid justification or formal consultation.
We respectfully request PEIRA to:
- Investigate the unlawful fee increase and take appropriate action to bring the school’s fee structure in line with PEIRA’s regulations.
Ensure that Supernova School refunds the excess amounts charged beyond the 5% limit. Mandate future compliance with PEIRA’s fee policy to prevent further exploitation of parents. - Request for a Minimum 15% Sibling Discount In addition to the unlawful fee increase, Supernova School has not provided any financial relief in the form of a sibling discount, a common practice in many educational institutions to support families with multiple children enrolled in the same school.
We collectively request PEIRA to:
Instruct Supernova School to implement a minimum 15% sibling discount for families with more than one child attending the institution.
As concerned parents, we feel that the financial strain caused by these practices is unfair and places many families in difficult positions. We seek your intervention to ensure fairness, transparency, and adherence to the legal framework governing private educational institutions.
We trust that PEIRA will act swiftly and fairly to address these issues and protect the rights of parents and students alike.
Signed,
(The undersigned parents of Supernova School students)
