Remove Lucky Cat Poker from Pleasant Valley

The Issue

Pleasant Valley is an established neighborhood nestled next to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. This west side location is highly sought after not only because of its access to Garden of the Gods but also because of its park, pool, neighborhood schools, and most importantly the amazing community. It is a true neighborhood where people look out for one another.

In the Spring of 2020, Lucky Cat Poker located at 1211 Adams Drive opened their doors for business after being shut down by their previous HOA. Pleasant Valley does not have an HOA so this seemed like the perfect landing spot for them. This is not just a group of buddies getting together to play a friendly game of poker. This Poker Room brings in as many as 30 cars at a time 2-3 times a week right into the heart of the Pleasant Valley neighborhood. These gatherings can last anywhere from 6-12 hours long.

Despite conversations, the owners of Lucky Cat Poker refuse to see + accept the negative impact they are having on the neighborhood (individuals carrying firearms, cigarette butts left in neighboring yards, taking up parking throughout the block, the overwhelming smell of marijuana, waking up neighbors as they disband late at night). Many of the immediate neighbors have installed cameras on their homes and no longer allow their children to play in their front yards on poker nights because they feel unsafe.

This is not what defines Pleasant Valley + we are asking you to sign in allegiance with the neighbors of Pleasant Valley to remove Lucky Cat Poker Room from our neighborhood. We may not have an HOA, but we do have a voice.
