Please Vote "NO" on Senate Bill 14-181 (Prohibit Photo Enforcement in Colorado)

The Issue

Colorado Residents - Please ask your Colorado House of Representatives to vote "NO" on Senate Bill 14-181 (Prohibit Photo Enforcement in Colorado)!

Photo Enforcement in Colorado is a safety program designed to reduce speeding and running red lights which in turn reduces the number of accidents involving motorists and pedestrians.

Photo Enforcement is a force multiplier which allows a camera to collect evidence of a violation, the violation is reviewed and then if it is a good violation, a citation is sent out via the USPS mail.  This allows Police Officers to repond to and handle more serious calls.  This also prevents traffic jams which so often occurs when a Police Officer turns on their emergency lights when pulling someone over for a traffic offense.

Denver Photo Enforcement also assisted the Westminster Police Department in searching for the suspect in the Jessica Ridgeway murder.  Photo Radar Vans were stragically placed in neighborhoods and took pictures of every vehicle and driver coming in and out to help identify the suspect for several weeks.

Photo Enforcement is a very important tool used by law enforcement to collect evidence in traffic violations, identifying suspects, and other law enforcement functions.  Prohibiting Photo Enforcement is taking another law enforcement tool out of the hands of Police & Sheriff's Officers around the state.

The TV news always reports the numbers of unemployed citizens here in Colorado and throughout the nation.  Prohibiting Photo Enforcement will be taking many jobs away from Colorado citizens and putting them in the unemployment lines.  Please don't allow this to happen!  Please don't make anymore productive Colorado citizens who have families that rely on their incomes for a roof over their head, food on the table, clothing, transportation, and so much more to become unemployed.

Please ask our Colorado House of Representatives and Governor to vote "NO" on Senate Bill 14-181 (Prohibit Photo Enforcement in Colorado).
