Bonita T.R.U.F.S. Program

Bonita T.R.U.F.S. Program

The Issue

A person asserting themselves through efforts and ambition in obtaining a BONITA T.R.U.F.S. (Beautiful True, Rehabilitative, Unity of Families) visit. Rehabilitation focusing on building/leading the home while away from home. The idea is to help inmates in establishing and maintaining a productive household in a society that has changed drastically over the years; including providing new methods and a way of thinking from their usual norm. Alleviating institutionalization which leads to a person 10x more likely to return to prison because they were not properly equipped to survive and establish themselves in today's society.

Primary goal is to rehabilitate boys into men with hands on demonstration right on the soil and grounds of Sterling Correctional Facility. No other program has come close or have such a phenomenal affect in the state of Colorado.Once implemented by D.O.C. officials the effect of this program can be recognized in the most profound way. Three specific goals we intend to obtain by utilizing such a unique program are:

1). Show transparency on rehabilitated men in the Colorado penal system; with real numbers and results to show the community and D.o.C. Officials as a whole.

2. Effectively prepare a man for transition into society with a trade or skill that will provide the knowledge and tools it takes to maintain a household, provide for a family, budget and properly manage finances. Which as stated above will alleviate the chance of recommitting and returning to prison.

3). Effectively change one's perspective from dark and hopeless to an enlightened faith and strengthened one. Mentally, emotionally and spiritually preparing oneself to effectively function in today's world; as it is constantly changing! Likewise, eliminating recidivism and criminal liability inside the facility and in society as a whole.

BONITA T.R.U.F.S. is not a constitutional right but rather a privilege that D.O.C. Officials can implement for the successful progress and welfare right on the yard inside Sterling Correctional Facility. I personally know and understand how much of an tremendous effect this program will have in promoting a more intertwined sense of community starting right here on the yard in Sterling Correctional Facility.

Painting the picture; a loved one visiting you on an overnight stay where you're able to dialogue and openly conversate about the different trades they are learning. Some in which could potentially lead to six figure salaries, combined with real life techniques and counseling to combat issues such as one on one communication, learning to love and be loved (how to accept it). What different emotions feel like and how to express or respond to them properly. BONITA T.R.U.F.S. offers an opportunity for motivation from family, friends and those that share the same community within the facility to do better, achieve better and be better as a whole. Imagine a 24 hour visitation without the normal stipulations of prison. BONITA T.R.U.F.S. offers the opportunity for no government intrusion, no extra fees for phone time, alleviates the fear of being and speaking in an intimate manner with your wife without someone looking over your shoulder listening to you personal conversation. It also provides tools to fight the war of being a felon on parole and stigmatism of missing out on pertinent parts of your loved ones life. The opportunity to physically help your child with there homework. The opportunity to provide the leadership that has gone ignored because you are imprisoned and there seem to tbe no real contact or commitment to guide the family from the inside. Bonita T.R.U.F.S. focuses on the best interest of the family and its structure, its unity. Through this program imprisoned men can understand a projected image/reality of what it takes to be a provider, the pressures of maintaining the family combined with what it actually takes to maintain a career what kind of effort and ambition it takes as the real life process takes place within the program. no more single parent households although a huge portion takes place from inside the Sterling Correctional Facility grounds; BONITA T.R.U.F.S. grants a man the chance to take reigns of his destiny and create echelon platforms of rehabilitation NEVER seen before, which sets the tone for progressive success upon release while possibly breaking generational repeated behaviors by turning them into positive attributes....
