Start AP Asian History

Start AP Asian History
The Issue
I don't know about other schools, but in my Sophomore year, I was given the option of taking AP World History or AP European history. History as a subject of learning has almost always been whitewashed, and it's devastating, personally, how we don't have an option to learn about Asian History.
I believe Asian History is important to learn about because:
- One could see the history of great nations, important historical people and events as one does in European History
- A more in-depth look at how European imperialism affected these nations in different ways would provide a lot more understanding to imperialism and it's effects today on these countries
- It is important to have a more in-depth look at non-European history to gather a wider understanding of how other countries functioned and other people lived.
- European history is often taught or spoken of anyhow because it is seen as.. more important to world history ? And the history if other continents is also greatly important to understanding world history.
- The history of another continent would be important to learn about because, often, one may want a more in-depth look at history rather than a broad look at history, and World History really just seems to be European history with a bit of vague and very broad explanations of non-European history.
- I recently saw a petition about instituting AP African History, and whilst that would also be important and interesting to learn about, I feel Asian History would be easier to start as a class, as Asian History is more well-documented. Additionally, African Civilisations would be more complicated because Africa's weather patterns are A Tad Wack and make settling hard to do, so the people were widely nomadic, and Asian History can more easily fit into the European standards of how civilisations function.
- Asian history, in my opinion, is honestly just.. Cooler than European history, as, until the 15th century, Europeans were rolling in muck, doing a Lot of in-fighting, and were, in general, largely underdeveloped compared to Asian civilisations.
- Asian History contributed a lot to modern science and philosophy and is not often given the credit it deserves.
I am no teacher, nor do I know the amount of work that goes into making an entire new curriculum. All I know is that Asian history is important to learn about and deserves it's own course, and that an Asian history course would greatly improve understanding of world history and current events.
