Close down the Dolls Kill on 33 Howard St.
The Issue
Dolls Kill is a global fast fashion brand selling products targeted towards pre-teen/teenage consumers. They have recently built a flagship store in New York City on Howard Street.
Businesses and residents of Howard Street believe that the new Dolls Kill Soho flagship is an eye sore for the surrounding area and should be shut down or relocated to a different area of the city.
They have recently emblazoned "IF YOU ARE GOING TO RIDE MY ASS AT LEAST PULL MY HAIR" on their storefront. We're not sure what their intent in baring slogans like this is, other than to instill a feeling of disdain and discomfort within innocent pedestrians. Dolls Kill has the potential to cheapen and disturb the existing integrity of Howard street between Broadway and Lafayette.
Stepping into work this morning, I noticed a handful of residents, specifically children and parents, walking by the store. These children were of reading age, and were probably able to read the "IF YOU ARE GOING TO RIDE MY ASS AT LEAST PULL MY HAIR" line written across the store. This type of messaging is inappropriate, cheap, and wholly unnecessary.
