Elyse Walston started this petition to President Donald J. Trump and

As Preston continues his fight with COVID-19 inside of FCI ASHLAND, he is unable to social distance and is given only two masks a week. Upon his release from the hospital, after a 5 day stay, he still tested positive for COVID and continues to suffer and struggle with breathing problems and body spasms, along with his underlying medical issues. Family and Friends strongly and firmly believe that Mr. Everett has served enough time for his drug offense. Due to the 924(c) and 851 only being retroactive for cocaine base and not cocaine powder, he still has six years of incarceration to go, along with 10 years of supervised release. During his incarceration, Mr. Everett has accomplished so much through classes and programs that were offered. He has earned his General Equivalent Diploma along with several Certifications and has maintained steady employment on the inside during his 16 years of incarceration.

Preston acknowledges his wrong doings and whole heartedly regrets living the fast life. Due to his incarceration, he has missed out on all seven of his children’s upbringing. With the two youngest, do to graduate High School in the next two years, he would love to attend their graduation and start to build a bond with all seven of his children. Preston has stability awaiting on the outside, along with moral support to assist him in looking for and finding employment. He is ready and willing to become a speaker at High Schools to help encourage the children to stay in school, graduate, go to College and become something of themselves, because prison is not a life that anyone needs to live. We do not want to lose Preston to this horrible disease. Please help send him home where he can get proper medical treatment.
