Wildlife robbed for more unneeded houses, help stop it
Wildlife robbed for more unneeded houses, help stop it
The Issue
Dain City is a small subdivision on the outskirts of Welland, a small triangle of land between 2 canals with only one road in and out and a train track across it that is used daily by a bio diesel plant for transporting product. Should a train break down on the tracks or an accident or event close or block our one road out, it could be disastrous.
Dain city has seen a rise in new home building over the years and the burden on our roads, wildlife and other infrastructure is critical.
Another proposal to build another 30+ homes in a small green space, on this little plot will displace the wildlife, such as our foxes, rabbits, raccoon, turtle and many birds pieces. There is current building of homes going on, tearing up the roads and displacing wildlife. This is the time when we need to slow the raping of land. We do not need these houses on our tiny plot of land. We can’t afford to have 60 or more vehicles, plus the heavy equipment coming in and out to clear the land and build them. WE SAY NO to the subdivision proposal off Talbot Ave.
There are hundreds of empty new builds in the Welland/Pelham area, leave what little green space we have on our wedge of land to the few animals that live there.
Soon, we will have nothing but roads, houses, cars. There will be no wildlife or green space unless we stand together and prevent those proposals.
