In 1974 the Jackie Robinson Community Center along with Jackie Robinson Park were opened and dedicated to the community. The park included an outside area which featured a swimming pool, basketball courts, an open football field suitable for soccer, two baseball fields with lights and bleachers, a roller rink, a picnic area, restrooms, drinking fountains and a parking lot. When the park was renovated and renewed in 2009 the skating rink was taken out and the community was not included in the decision to remove it. The signatures on this petition represent community members who want to bring back the roller rink.
