For years, our policymakers and leading businesses have nonsensically abused our natural resources and, in doing so, used polluting methods to viciously corrupt the very air we breathe, the water we drink, and the animals with which we cohabit the world. Attempts such as the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act have made significant progress in rectifying the mistakes of business and government alike but have, simply put, not gone nearly far enough. We, as the Promoters of Sustainable Energy Use Defense, have made it our mission to do everything in our power to institute change and shifts to more sustainable methods such as renewable energies to ensure that our energy use ensures that future generations have access the same energy.

By signing your name on this petition you are helping us both raise awareness of our cause and to gain increased power in numbers to strengthen our influence in government. We are currently fighting for the shift to more sustainable sources of energy in the New Orleans area in the face of the prevalence of powerful oil companies such as Shell gaining influence in government and lobbying for their survival. With your help, we will show the New Orleans municipal government and even the federal government that the people will not allow this abuse of our resources any longer and that we demand a shift to sustainable energy use.
