I recently came across the blue tree project after someone started complaining about their view. The Blue Tree Project is dedicated to starting conversations about mental health and hope to save lives by reminding people that they aren't alone.

Their mission statement is as follows:

"Our mission is to help spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when battling mental health concerns.

By spreading the paint and spreading the message that "it’s OK to not be OK", we can help break down the stigma that’s still largely attached to mental health."

As someone who has battled mental health and depression, as well as anxiety issues, I personally think this is awesome. Sometimes I felt alone, even with family supporting me and plenty of friends. You can't just get over it. Sometimes you need to be reminded to talk to someone or get some help. If a big blue tree that stands out triggers this thought, then it is important that it stays.

Due to the complaint about destroying their view, parks and wildlife are looking into it. Most people want this symbol to remain so I thought I would put this up so people can voice their opinion and let the city of Kalamunda know if they want to keep it or not.
