Safety on Cultus Lake roads

Hello everyone,
I’m creating this in hopes to bring attention to the extreme dangers that are located within Cultus Lake and more specifically the road between Entrance Bay campground and Cultus Lake.
As you may or may not know,
On Thursday September 2nd my family and another family had just arrived camping and went to go for a walk to the beach, like 100's of others do multiple times a day from the Entrance Bay campground located in the BC Parks provincial site and within Cultus Lake. (as well as a FREQUENT pathway for all BC Parks workers) There is a paved pathway from the campsite down to the main road, however this is an EXTREMELY busy road located between two corners. Speed limit is posted at 50kms. Most are doing 70-80-90kms.
That evening was an absolutely terrifying and horrific ordeal. My husband, Chris was hit by a truck that was speeding and that had swerved off the road. The rest of us narrowly escaping.
This could've been much much worse without the quick thinking of my husband (saving a little girls life, he is a true HERO) and the one sign that managed to help stop the speeding truck from mowing my husband right over. The children involved are now dealing with PTSD symptoms and none of us will ever camp there until we feel safe, if ever at all.
It is imperative that this area has a LIT crosswalk and clear easy to read signage, speed bumps or any kind of speed preventative measures. This needs to happen before a casualty does. This needs to be preventative, not actions after someone is killed. It's only a matter of time.
I would like for the public to see and know the dangers and also in hopes to have more support in getting a crosswalk, speed bumps or some kind of speed preventative measures installed.
Thank you,
Stay Safe
