Please sign this petition to let our Mayor, City Councillors, and BC Housing know that we DO NOT support the Moira House Homeless Shelter that is planned at 600 Kingston Avenue in Kamloops, BC.

This 40-bed modular housing shelter is set to be built in the vacant lot at 600 Kingston Avenue, right along our beautiful Rivers Trail on Shubert Drive.

This shelter is just a short distance away from our neighbourhood park, home-based daycares, small businesses, Westmount Elementary School, Westmount and Shubert Drive residential neighbourhoods.

We were not notified about this project until after a decision was made by city council and BC Housing.

We recognize the need for more available beds in Kamloops for our homeless population. But, we ask that this project be moved to a more suitable area, not right in between two very family-oriented neighbourhoods. We do not welcome the unwanted activities that surround our local shelters. We need a better solution!
