I am a victim of domestic violence. I have been choked, had glass thrown at me, and threatened with my life. My wife was arrested on domestic violence charges, and accepted a plea deal. During our divorce proceedings she requested and was granted alimony. My appeal to reconsider the alimony on the grounds that victims shouldn’t have to pay their abusers was denied. 

Millions of people per year, both men and women, are victims of domestic abuse, but there is no law that makes them exempt from paying. 

I want to see the legislators make a law in NH that abusers will not get money from their victims, especially when they have already pleaded guilty to the abuse.
