In the wake of yet another tragedy, there is debate going on in regards to what we can do to stop so much unnecessary violence. There is a website called Topix.com that is basically unmoderated and does not require users to register. In addition to an excessive amount of libelous posts, there are forums dedicated to prescription drug use and weapons. On these unmoderated forums, many illegal activities are occurring including the selling of weapons. The CEO of Topix has repeatedly made excuses for his website and states the only thing Topix will do is take a look at the post if people are required to go on his sick website and use the Feedback. What he fails to mention is he has less than ten people for that job. The Topix website has 400,000 forums and his unmoderated filth can lead to numerous actions which may lead to more tragedies such as the one that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary. It is time that Chris Tolles took hatred seriously and started required a more moderated forum. This is not an attack on free speech. Speech requires responsiblity which means not committing libel, defamation, or other illegal activities including the selling of illegal guns on his site.
