With the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to rely more on internet for education, work, shopping, and communication. In this day and age with advanced technology, we, the people of Tuba City and Navajo Nation, demand better internet services. Faster, reliable, and better internet services would greatly benefit our children and students who are attending school online, those who have to work from home, those that have to stay at home but need to shop and order online for essentials, teachers who have had to teach from home, medical professionals who need to research to keep up-to-date on information and do presentations, and loved ones who we can’t visit or see. Better internet will help us to connect with our family and friends via video chat for our mental health and well being. Many grandparents are feeling lonely, isolated, and miss their children and grandchildren. Better internet would help those in the hospital who are not allowed visitors to connect with their loved one via video chat for a ‘get well’ wish or even their last good-bye. It would also help to have telemedicine and teletherapy visits via video chat with your medical professionals while staying safe at home. It would assist with virtual meetings for many organizations and businesses. Recently, there have been frequent internet outages and overload where speed is reduced which makes it impossible to get anything done over the internet. Please sign this petition to request for better internet services and make our voices heard for our children, for our loved ones, for our neighbor, for our teachers, for our medical professionals, and for ourselves as consumers.
