Watched helplessly as kids, eager to learn and grow, are met with an environment that is anything but nurturing at Lighthouse Christian School (LCS). Instead of finding a safe haven, they are faced with constant intimidation. They come home scared, their enthusiasm for education waned, and what is meant to be constructive educational help is often absent. This is not only our story, but a shared experience among many families whose children attend LCS.

The experiences children face at LCS are not isolated. Many have reported being subject to unfair treatment, whether through neglect in educational support or punitive measures that border on intimidation. This distinctly contradicts the mission that a school, particularly one grounded in Christian values, should espouse—providing a safe and supportive environment for all students.

A school should be a place where children feel safe, respected, and eager to learn. It should not be a place that breeds fear or insecurity. No child should fear going to school or feel unsupported and overlooked by those who are supposed to educate and protect them.

Parents plead Lighthouse Christian School to take immediate and concrete actions to address this pervasive issue. This includes setting up proper channels for students to report any mistreatments, conducting regular assessments regarding staff conduct, and ensuring staff and students embrace a supportive and inclusive environment. Training sessions on empathy and understanding, along with stricter anti-bullying measures, should be implemented at once to ensure every child feels valued and protected.

We demand accountability from the staff and a commitment to change from the school.

With collective effort, we can transform LCS into a place where children thrive academically and socially, fostering an atmosphere of love, respect for themselves and God and encouragement.
