The cancellation of the NAIG 2020 games was unfortunate and disappointing for our athletes, but in the meantime it was inevitable as the whole world went on a standstill. The 4 year gap from the 2023 games to the 2027 games means another year of 2007 born athletes won’t get to participate. The changing of the age groups for the 2027 games means that yet another year of athletes won’t get to participate.

This does not help with growing our young athletes and is not what the games are about. This is moving in the opposite direction of the reconciliation. Restricting not only 1, but 2 age years (2007 and now 2008) is horrible for young athletes.
I know so many athletes from across different provinces are already disappointed from this. 

We have to act now and sign this petition, as well as contacting your PTASB (Provincial/Territorial Aboriginal Sport Bodies) and DEMAND them to change it while there is still time for them to change it.
