Change Twitch's verification system

Change Twitch's verification system
The Issue
We need Twitch to make vital changes to their verification system. As a loyal Twitch user, it's incredibly frustrating to face constant barriers when trying to access my own account because of the current restricted verification methods. I'm not alone in this struggle—hundreds of Twitch users, just like me, have continuously faced issues with the existing system.
Twitch currently demands verification through a phone number and the Authy app, which has proven to be problematic for many. The Authy app doesn't efficiently organize or read the verification codes, causing unnecessary delays and complications. This isn't just my personal experience but a widespread issue among the Twitch community who have voiced their concerns, only to be met with silence from the platform.
It is imperative that Twitch recognizes this problem and provides more flexible verification options. Many modern platforms allow verification via emails or through a user-preferred authentication app using QR codes, offering a smoother and more reliable user experience. Implementing these alternatives would significantly enhance accessibility and user satisfaction on Twitch.
Furthermore, the current system fails to consider users who may not have ready access to a phone number or whose phones are frequently unreliable or unavailable. Incorporating email verification or alternative authentication apps is not only more inclusive but also aligns with industry standards, offering security without unwarranted hassle.
By diversifying their verification methods in the aforementioned ways, Twitch wouldn't just be addressing a technical flaw, but also acknowledging their users' needs and improving overall platform trust and engagement.
We call on Twitch to update their verification process to include email verification and the use of QR codes for any authentication app of users’ choice. These changes would alleviate the frustration faced by countless users and demonstrate a genuine commitment to community feedback and operational excellence.
Please support this petition to demand necessary changes in Twitch's verification setup. Together, we can create a more accessible and user-friendly Twitch experience for all.
