The Issue

Every staff member at HIWY brings unique magic to our environment, which is why our current uniform policy stifles this personal expression. In an organization that prides itself on being unique and magical, we believe in giving our staff the freedom to express their creativity and individuality. From the tattoos that tell personal stories to piercings that symbolize our individuality, to the pin badges that highlight our passions, these personal touches are integral to the character of our employees and, by extension, to our celebrated company culture.

The existing uniform policy inhibits this expression by enforcing a one-size-fits-all approach that does not align with our company's values of uniqueness and creativity. We propose a revised policy that embraces individuality while maintaining professionalism. This would involve allowing tasteful tattoos, non-disruptive piercings, and personalized accessories such as pin badges on waistcoats. Such a policy would not only respect personal expression but also enhance our customer experience by showcasing the diversity and uniqueness of our team members.

Statistics show that 39% of individuals in today’s workforce have at least one tattoo, and 23% of respondents in a recent survey stated that they feel more confident and authentic when they can express their personal style at work. By updating our policy, HIWY can remain a leader in embracing an inclusive and inspirational work environment.
