Political integrity isn't just about what our politicians do, it's also about how our tax- payer money is being spent. If I sold you a lemon of a car, you would expect a full refund. If I was a car dealership, you'd expect a new car, or your existing lemon fixed at no cost to you, in addition to the refund.
Yet when Deloittes slop out a report for $440,000 dollars, full of made-up names and false citations, created by AI, they only refunded $98,000, pocketing $342,000.
Feels like 'Obtaining a Financial Benefit by Deception' to me - aka FRAUD!
I don't know about you, but I would deem a few squares of toilet paper more valuable than that report. Where is the rest of my refund and go away and redo my report dam it!
Another Big 4 Accounting Firm that struggles to understand the law. And another example our governments weakness to not punish the corrupt behaviour. Where is the fine, the jail sentence, the justice?
If the NACC had teeth, just the mere threat of taking this to court, would have Deloittes scrambling accepting their fault and forgoing the fee - no questions asked.
With the over extension of the US economy looming, we need to be strengthening our democracy, governance, and lobbying, not continuously feeding the closet skeletons.
When you measure up our government and the major political parties to this legal definition of fraud, truly how many non-billionaire funded political parties not obtaining financial benefit by deception, are left in Australia? I can only think of one. And they are already under political attack by the billionaire class.
Looking forward to a NACC with Public Hearings. Cheers.
