If you’ve been to Chameleon a few months ago, you’d know how beautiful our space is. Bron and Kieran and all members of our staff make a concerted effort to create a sanctuary that is peaceful, bright and welcoming. We often received compliments about how we felt like a ‘home away from home’.

In contrast, if you’ve been to visit in the last few months, you would be shocked and appalled about the state of our shop front. 

Due to reasons out of our control, real estate has decided that the marble needs to be removed. This has resulted in ugly scaffolding and construction that entirely covers the front of the shop, from floor to ceiling.

This has been extremely detrimental to our business for a number of reasons:

• It is unsightly. There is debris and dust scattered around everywhere and the mesh barricades are awful.
• It is unsafe. Chunks of marble fall from the sky and have hit people. The fencing is not secured properly and is hazardous.
• It is noisy. As much as we have been trying to work with the tradies, they drill at all times of the day. This disrupts treatments, yoga and readings. Imagine if you were getting a massage and someone started drilling next to you! As a consequence, we have had to refund customers. It makes for an uncomfortable experience.
• It blocks all our natural light. Our yoga studio is really dark, which affects our plant life, and makes our space seem dim and lifeless.
• You cannot see that we are open! Our street presence has been completely diminished. People have avoided coming in for hair cuts because they cannot find us, or assume we are closed for renovations. We have lost so many sales we would usually receive from foot traffic because of this.

We are receiving NO financial compensation from real estate, and there is NO completion date set in stone.

We CANNOT continue at the rate we are going without significant help.

Your signature will help us gain attention from real estate, with the hopes that they are more compassionate in our plea for a rent reduction.
