I have been a witness to the erosion of our first amendment rights since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The signing of the Patriot Act by George W. Bush led to increased security measures and gave our government authority to spy on its citizens. Now, they are attempting to control even more aspects of our lives with their proposed ban on TikTok.

TikTok is not just an entertainment platform; it is a source of income for social influencers and small businesses that serve over 107 million people worldwide. It's also a tool for political campaigns, as demonstrated by President Joe Biden himself. This proposed ban is not only hypocritical but also infringes upon our freedom of speech and right to earn income.

The government seems more interested in exerting control than protecting its citizens' rights or spending wisely - $93 billion was recently allocated for wars in Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel while domestic issues like this continue unaddressed.
