We are a group of students who are concerned with the highly contagious COVID-19 outbreak in the UK. It has caused more than 95,000 confirmed cases and over 3,300 deaths around the world. As of 5/3/2020, there are 116 confirmed cases and one fatality in the UK, one of which is only five minutes’ walk from our Cass Business School campus!

Cass only addressed students’ concerns via email but failed to provide clear instructions and an actual plan in case of mass outbreak.

We think Cass ought to reiterate that:

1. Any student/staff with symptoms or has been to other countries and regions with confirmed cases should contact the NHS, report to the University and self-isolate at home immediately.

2. Students have the right to avoid gatherings such as lectures and are issued an authorised absence.

3. Online classes! Lecturers can upload lecture capture to Moodle and make use of streaming technology such as Skype.
