The issue

The below information explains the process and how it is used.  The problem is WELCOME TO COUNTRY was never called for and many Australians are just sick of it.

It's time to get rid of it and move on from the tribal crap.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS PETITION IS TO GET RID OF THE WELCOME TO COUNTRY FROM ALL SPORTING EVENTS AUSTRALIA WIDE.

ITS TIME FOR THE PEOPLE TO DECIDE IF IT'S NEEDED OR NOT.

-----‐‐--------------------------

A Welcome to Country is typically performed at the beginning of formal events, ceremonies, or gatherings, including government functions, conferences, and even sporting events. It is usually arranged in advance and is distinct from an **Acknowledgment of Country**, which can be performed by anyone (Indigenous or non-Indigenous) and is a simpler recognition of the traditional owners of the land.

At Sporting Events:

In the context of sporting events, the Welcome to Country is performed to show respect for the Indigenous custodians of the land where the event is taking place. It serves to remind participants and spectators of the history and cultural heritage of the land. While some people appreciate this inclusion, others might not fully understand its significance, leading to mixed opinions about its place in such settings.

Understanding the background and importance of the Welcome to Country can help foster greater appreciation and respect for this tradition, which plays a vital role in acknowledging Australia’s Indigenous heritage.

The problem here is that its misused and portrays the wrong scenery for our children that we bring to watch different sporting events in Australia and the last thing we need to see is tribal crap with a guy only covering his private parts.

Tony Jones from 3aw has weighed in on the controversial Welcome to Country ceremony before the AFL semi-final between GWS and Brisbane on Saturday night.

The ceremony was carried out by Brendan Kerin and he stated " THE WELCOME TO COUNTRY IS NOT A CEREMONY THAT WE HAVE INVENTED TO CATER FOR WHITE PEOPLE, ITS A CEREMONY WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR 250,000 YEARS BC. BC stand for BEFORE COOK , it has since caused outrage on social media, with Tony Jones stating the ceremony was “counterproductive”.

“If this is all designed to sort of unify Australia, I think it’s creating division
