Call on The City of Edinburgh to raise the flag of Palestine

Call on The City of Edinburgh to raise the flag of Palestine

The Issue

Palestinians continue to suffer dire conditions in Gaza following the so-called ceasefire in October 2025. The situation is inhumane. Shelter is woefully inadequate, sanitation has been destroyed, and food and medical supplies remain critically scarce. The illegal occupation forces continue to murder civilians with impunity. At the time of writing, in April 2026, at least 770 Palestinians have been murdered during the ceasefire, with the level of violence increasing over recent days.

After a cold, desperate winter, where thousands of makeshift tents were flooded during the storms, the struggle to find shelter, medicine, water and food continues. Life in Gaza has been reduced to survival in a post-apocalyptic world, with the drones and guns of the zionist invaders never far away.

This petition appeals to the people of Scotland and the world. The aim is simple: to raise the Palestinian flag in prominent positions in as many cities as we can - and we begin with Edinburgh. It is important that we recognise the suffering in Gaza and the West Bank, and remind the world that the genocide has not gone away.

The City of Toronto raised the Palestinian flag in November 2025, despite a challenge from pro-genocide groups who claimed that support for Palestinian rights is anti-semitic. These slur-tactics have proven to be nothing more than an attempt by zionists to protect israel from criticism, and the case in Toronto was rightly dismissed by the court. This means that people across the world have the right to show solidarity for the people of Palestine.

Join us in the campaign to see the Palestinian flag raised PERMANENTLY in Edinburgh, creating a visible reminder to the millions of people who visit our capital city every year.

It is our responsibility to seek peace and justice for the people of Gaza and Palestine. Please sign and share this petition to make a difference, thank you.
