Eastbourne Council and the Eden Project have big plans which will have a dramatic impact on three large areas of our town - the seafront, the Downs and the Levels. Although these proposals will have major repercussions on our town and our environment, the council doesn't seem to want us to see them - the information can only currently be be found by submitting a freedom of information act, contrary to earlier council claims that they would be shared, "taking the people of Eastbourne with us on this journey".

Some of the proposals look really good but the Fort Fun prime site is being deliberately left derelict just in case Eden decides to go ahead, heritage buildings are not being maintained as they should with potential funding used elsewhere and there is a big question of  the environmental impact on the Downlands.

The people of Eastbourne need to have full access to all the information on what the proposals are and to enter a dialogue with the council to prevent them imposing this as a done deal without any consultation, such as with the Black Robin Farm development.
