However, despite its vast potential as a transformative green space, the absence of basic public facilities like restrooms is a significant hindrance to its accessibility and full enjoyment.

This often forces them to resort to unsanitary practices such as public urination or defecation, compromising both the environment and the health of the community. Statistics show that 96% of park users expect amenities like bathrooms, especially families, children, and people with disabilities who rely on them for a comfortable and safe park experience.
The installation of public restrooms would not only improve the accessibility and appeal of Historic West End Park but also promote public health and safety. Furthermore, enhanced facilities would likely increase park usage, inviting more families and community members to partake in the park's activities, thereby cultivating a vibrant and engaged community spirit. The need for these facilities is clear, and it’s time to address this pressing matter.
