The Issue

Living in Madera, California, it's become evident that many families, including my own, lack the necessary means or resources to enjoy aquatic activities like pools or water parks. For those of us raising kids, especially during the hot months, finding safe and affordable spaces for our little ones' recreation is essential. Imagine the joy and relief a community splash pad could bring, offering a refreshing escape just within reach.

Despite our efforts, support from local city government is still developing at this time.  However, Madera County's governing body is willing to take initiative on this project, giving us a glimmer of hope for our community.  They're showing a willingness to align with us through accessing various grants to make the dream of a splash pad a reality. Collaborating with other community members, we're determined to find a solution not just for our children, but for all families in the Madera area.

A splash pad is not just about fun—it's about safety, community building, and wellness. It provides a secure environment for children to play, with less risk compared to traditional pools. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), water-related injuries are a significant risk for children, but facilities like splash pads can greatly mitigate these dangers.

Let's not miss this opportunity to support health, happiness, and community spirit in Madera. By backing our petition, you're lending a hand to families who would greatly benefit from a local amenity that fosters both joy and safe play. Help us bring this vision to life and ensure our children have the safe, fun-filled spaces they deserve.

Please sign this petition to urge the city officials to partner with the county and us as parents in building a splash pad for the Madera community.
