Build a skate park in honor of Chase Garrison

Build a skate park in honor of Chase Garrison
The Issue
Chase Garrison was more than just a skateboarder to those of us in Tucson; he was a cherished friend, a passionate athlete, and a beacon of positivity in our community. His sudden passing left a void that is felt deeply by everyone who knew him. Chase loved skateboarding, and he was very skilled, especially at hand rails and stair sets, and he wasn't afraid of taking a slam.
In honor of Chase's memory and to continue his legacy of unity and passion, we propose building a skate park in his name right here in Tucson. A place where skaters of all ages and abilities can come together, hone their skills, and share the joy of skateboarding. Such a facility would not only serve as a tribute to Chase but would also provide a safe, dedicated space for skateboarders, encouraging healthy, outdoor activity and community engagement.
According to the American Public Health Association, access to green and recreational spaces is linked to improved mental health outcomes and community well-being. Tucson, known for its vibrant community spirit and outdoor lifestyle, is the perfect place to demonstrate this. By constructing a skate park dedicated to Chase, we are not just creating a physical space; we are fostering a supportive environment that could help others in need.
We call upon the Tucson City Council and local businesses to support this initiative by providing the necessary resources. With your help, we can transform an idea into a reality, bringing people together, just as Chase always did.
Sign this petition to honor Chase Garrison's life and passion, and to invest in the future of our community's youth.
We also encourage you to donate to the Chase Garrison Memorial Skate Park fundraiser, to help raise the necessary funds for construction of the park.
