Our local swimming club in, Armthorpe, Doncaster once thrived as a well-known venue for competitive swimming meets. However, due to limited spectator provision, we are no longer able to host competitive events, robbing us of a home advantage. Our current facility only has four lanes, often resulting in long waiting lists and missed opportunities for aspiring swimmers across Doncaster.

The solution is clear and feasible – constructing a new competitive standard swimming pool in Doncaster that can accommodate the growing needs of our local community. A 50-meter-long, 10-lane wide pool with a consistent depth of 1.35 meters would be ideal, offering ample space for competition and training. Importantly, this new facility would include adequate spectator areas, supporting the vibrant and engaged swimming community our town is known for.

From national statistics and numerous studies, it's evident that access to well-equipped sports facilities like swimming pools encourages healthier lifestyles, supports youth development, and fosters community spirit. In fact, Sport England's Active Lives Survey shows that swimming is one of the most popular forms of exercise across all age groups, highlighting the demand for accessible swimming facilities.
